Scary Scary

Today... we had some very scary weather come through our area. By the grace of God we made it through with minimal damage, others were very unfortunate. There was a tornado touchdown in Chelsea, Indiana. That is literally 10 mins from where I live. Another in Henryville and Marysville, their towns were wiped off the map. I saw the radar and knew in that moment that the storms were coming straight here. My mom told me to go to the animal shelter, but I knew in my gut I had to go get my sisters. I literally sped all the way to the school. When I got there I ran around and found them. Lora refused to come with me, so I made a drastic decision and left. When Michela and I got to my car, the tornado sirens started going off and people were running inside. I hid in a filing closet in the high school office with my sister, Kelsey, Brittany, and the Prestons. It was a crazy time. I had no idea what was going on outside, which was better. But then suddenly the power went out and I knew something was going on outside. We were in the office for about 1 1/2 and then we were able to leave because the storms had passed. When we walked outside all you could see is debris everywhere and some houses even had their siding torn off, but that was the least of my worries. I feel awful that the storm skipped Hanover/Madison and destroyed the other towns. Many people lost their lives and their homes all in one day. I just don't get it. How come my town is so special. If that storm would have not crossed the river we would have been hit. I am so very lucky that I am able to sleep in my bed tonight. I donated to the red cross and I am gonna bring water down there tomorrow. How am I supposed to go to Florida and feel like this? Why am I so lucky that I get to leave this town......
